Disposable, single-use stands account for around 80% of the total waste from our event, which is why we are launching the Better Stands Programme. Better Stands is about moving away from the use of disposable stands to not only vastly reduce waste, but also improve the ease, quality, safety and sustainability of the exhibitor experience at our events.

We believe that sustainable, reusable stand options offer a better way forward for the events industry. As an exhibitor you can work with your Exhibitor Appointed Contractor to design a stand that fits this criteria. If you’re unsure of where to start? The Informa Better Stands Programme is an industry-wide campaign that brings together exhibitors, contractors, and the broader events community to move away from disposable, single-use booths in favour of reusable structures. This initiative aims to improve the ease, safety, and sustainability of the exhibiting experience at our events.

Through Informa Better Stands, we show our appreciation for exhibitors who commit to building more sustainable booths and help reduce the overall waste generated by the exhibition. At FHI 2025, we were proud to honour the outstanding efforts of companies that demonstrated leadership in sustainability through the Better Stands Awards, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Winners, as well as Better Stands Appreciation Awards presented to those who used our official Better Stands packages.
